4 Steps To Make Money With Amazon FBA In 3 Months With ONE Product

Make money with Amazon FBA

Back in January last year, I decided to launch a new product with Amazon FBA, which I expected to earn me a thousand pounds or so in extra profit each month. Little did I know though, that this was a product that would blow that goal out of the water and and make me more than £30,000 profit in its first 3 months.

The launch of that product alone has been instrumental in allowing me to grow my Amazon FBA business and achieve results like THIS:

Read through this article because I’ll be sharing in detail how to make money with Amazon in 4 easy steps.

#1. Launching With The X-Factor.

Launching an Amazon FBA product with the X-Factor was one of the key reasons I was able to make £30,000 in profits in 3 months. When I say X-Factor, I’m not talking about Simon Cowell’s TV show – I’m talking about launching a product with a special something that stands out from the competition.

In my case, the product had a unique design and feature that wasn’t available on Amazon when I first came across it. This meant that customers would see my product listing, realize that nothing else like it existed on the Amazon platform, and simply had no choice but to buy. If you’re wondering how I managed to get this head start and find a new product before everyone else, well the answer’s easy – I just asked a supplier what new products they had that were soon due to be released.

Just to be clear, when I say that I found a product that wasn’t available on Amazon, I’m not referring to the product itself, but the product design. The type of product that I wanted to sell already existed and was selling very well on Amazon, and this is an important point to note because, on Amazon, you can’t sell a product in a dead niche with no demand.

Customers don’t come to Amazon to buy on impulse and mindlessly browse for new products. They usually come with a product in mind. So, whenever you are doing your product research and considering what to sell, the first thing to do is to assess your product niche’s demand, which you can discover using Helium 10’s X-ray tool.

If it passes the demand test, your next task is to find ways that you can sell your product in a slightly differentiated way from the current offering in that niche.

That way you’ll have a product in a popular niche that also has an X-factor to help it stand out from the competition. If you want to use the Helium 10 product research tool yourself, feel free to use this link. I’ve used it from day 1 and it’s never disappointed!

#2: Perfecting My Listing.

In order to ensure that my Amazon FBA product was a smash hit, I spent ages perfecting my product listing, which included my title, description, images, and search keywords. This is a critical step to get right, and yet so many get it wrong.

You’d be shocked at how many times I’ve seen dreadful listings full of spelling mistakes and bad pictures, resulting in customers quickly deciding to purchase from someone else.

Having a poor listing looks unprofessional and makes you look like a shoddy seller which isn’t the image you want to portray, so make sure you don’t skip this step! If you’re not a great graphic designer or photographer, take the smart way out and hire someone to do it for you. Personally, I like to use Upwork or Fiverr to get good quality work for cheap prices. Just make sure you check the freelancer’s reviews before hiring!

#3: Branding That Connects.

I don’t mean to brag, but my product’s branding was absolutely top-notch from head to toe, which I believe is essential if you really want to make money with Amazon. Other than ensuring that I had a killer listing that sold my product’s features well, I also went all out with my brand story, which might sound pointless and cringe-y.

Here’s why it’s important: Throughout my pictures, description, and tagline, I made sure to emphasize a story of how my brand came about and really honed in on how I was a small British company selling quality goods. Creating a brand story doesn’t need to be complicated. In fact, it can be as simple as saying that you’ve always been passionate about the niche that you wanted to sell in, which is why you created the product that you’re selling.

No need to overdo it. A story that’s simple and even stereotypical can make customers stick to your listing for a little longer, have an emotional connection with your brand, and eventually click that ‘Add to Basket’ button, which was the case for my star product. Customers love buying from sellers that are as passionate about the niche as they are, so make it your job to show potential customers as much passion for the product as possible.

#4: Making Social Proof.

Social proof is a secret weapon when it comes to selling killer products on Amazon. That’s because no one else really uses it, despite the fact that you can get it for very little money. In order to give my Amazon FBA product the best chances of success, I knew that I needed to get as much social proof as possible.

So, one afternoon I sat down and searched for as many influencers, blog owners, and magazine editors as I could, and I mailed them all asking if they’d like to receive a free product in exchange for them posting a review. In the end, around a quarter of the people that I messaged replied and said yes, they’d be happy to do this. So, in exchange for me giving away around 10 units, I got a number of websites to post up reviews acting as social proof for my product.

All of these reviews are linked directly to my Amazon listing! The end result was an exponential increase in my sales numbers right when I very first launched. Most people don’t think to use this strategy in order to make money with Amazon because it costs a bit of money upfront, but if you truly believe your product is high-quality and brings something new to the niche, just like my product did, then this tactic really is a no-brainer.

Those are the four ways that I made £30,000 in profits in only 3 months with 1 product. My product had the X-factor, my listing was extremely high-quality, my brand told a compelling story, and I used influencers and social proof to my advantage by giving away free samples. Follow these 4 steps and you’ll be well on your way to supercharging your product’s success.
